Mining rights imply the authority to carry out mining operations. We are the holder of the right to exploration and exploitation of minerals and ores and the right to exploit mineral masses (building materials). These rights were granted by decree of the Ministry of Natural Resources in the following areas:
This area was named after the Maripaston creek, a branch of the Saramacca river, located in the district of Para. Within a surface area of 1375 hectares, we explore for gold and we exercise acts of management with regard to the exploitation of gold and other minerals. Within short we will start with the exploration and the setting up of a small-scale mining operation.
- Royal Hill
Another mining right in the Brokopondo area. Here the process waste rock to crushed stone in cooperation with Rosebel Gold Mines N.V.
Named after the Goliath Mountain, also located in the district of Para and can be reached via the road to West Suriname. This area is 26,000 hectares in size. Here we carry out exploration activities for gold and other minerals.
The Lely mountain range is situated on the south-eastern part of the ‘van Blommenstein’ Reservoir, in the district of Sipaliwini. In this area we carry out exploration activities for gold, diamond and other minerals. This area covers 96,500 hectares or more.
Situated in the district of Marowijne, along the road to Langatabiki. It is at a distance of about 30 km from the bauxite city Moengo. This area is 1200 hectares in size. There is a natural stone mine where granite blocks are mined with a volume of 1.5.x 1.5 x 3m.
In the past Grassalco exported granite to North Carolina in the United States of America.
